Responsibilities
- Design and enable groundbreaking technologies for everything involved in solar manufacturing and scalability.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to research, design, develop, test, and qualify solar hardware for D2Solar and our clients.
- Own and drive research and development of innovative solar technologies, including early prototyping and analysis, as well as root cause and failure analysis of difficult solar manufacturing and reliability problems.
- Recommend design changes/directions to meet client requirements and increase manufacturing yield and throughput.
- Own and develop hardware and software components that enable the business to deliver on specialty solar products and throughput targets.
- Coordinate and work with the product line to integrate process improvements.
- Participate in team brainstorming and prototyping of new solar technology development.
- Preserve the open-minded and learning-centric approach to problem-solving at D2Solar.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience in engineering.
- Strong motivation to work with a small team and help grow the company.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to document research findings clearly and recommend next steps.
- Ability to work a 9/80 work schedule on-site, with some flexibility for hybrid work
- BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Material Science, or a similar concentration.
- Consideration will be given to qualified candidates from solar, semiconductor, consumer electronics, aerospace, automotive, or other fields with related technology and development models.
